Frequently Asked Questions

  • Somatic work helps you tune into your body, which often holds onto emotional pain or stress. By noticing where you carry tension or discomfort, we can work on releasing it. It helps you reconnect with your body’s natural wisdom, facilitating emotional healing and promoting relaxation.

  • Everyone’s journey is different, and progress depends on many factors, including your goals and how open you are to the process. Some people feel shifts early on, while others need more time. Holistic therapy is about sustainable, long-term change, so we focus on integrating healing in your daily life at your own pace.

  • Breathwork helps calm your nervous system by engaging your parasympathetic 'rest and digest' response. When we control and deepen our breathing, it signals to the body that we are safe, which helps reduce anxiety, improves focus, and releases emotional tension. It's a powerful tool for managing stress. It can also allow you to release emotions that are stuck at the cellular level through active breath and release.

  • In play therapy, the play is intentional and guided. As a therapist, I observe the themes in the play and gently guide the child to explore difficult emotions or experiences in a safe environment. It’s a therapeutic process that helps them express and understand feelings in ways that might not be possible through words alone.

  • Trauma is often stored in the body as physical tension or discomfort. Somatic therapy helps you become aware of where trauma may be held in your body, allowing us to release that tension through breathwork, movement, or other body-centered practices. This helps not just emotionally but also physically, providing relief and a sense of safety.

  • Traditional therapy often focuses on mental or emotional health, whereas holistic therapy considers the entire being. We incorporate techniques such as mindfulness, somatic practices, breathwork, and energy healing, in addition to talking through your emotions.

  • We can explore both. Trauma from the past can influence how you feel and behave in the present, so it's important to acknowledge it. At the same time, we work on present-moment awareness through practices like mindfulness and breathwork to help you feel grounded and empowered now.
